Felix and Fingers recently went to Tampa, Florida to play for the Floridan Palace Hotel Wedding. It was a wonderful evening. We are so glad this gorgeous property, which dates from 1926, reopened in 2012. It is amazing!

Beautiful Music From All

Floridan Palace Hotel Wedding Ali Olmo

Ali Olmo

As guests took their seats for the wedding ceremony, we enjoyed some lovely classical pieces on the piano played by the bride’s niece. She did a fabulous job. Following the ceremony, the bride and groom exited to SOB by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. Champagne glasses immediately materialized in their hands for the toast and then it was on to party. Another family member, the groom’s aunt, Ali Olmo, sang for the mother/son dance. Ali is a very accomplished vocalist and songwriter whose voice can be heard in movies and TV and  also recorded at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. We truly enjoyed her performance.

Your dueling piano specialists then heated things up a bit with Montell Jordan’s This is How We Do It and Party Up (Up in Here) by DMX. This brought everyone out on the dance floor and from that point on, the dancing and singing never stopped. We made sure to slow it down a bit for some romantic slow dances. For this we played the Whitney Houston version of I Will Always Love You and the Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody. That classic song is guaranteed to bring couples to the dance floor. What a wonderful night it was and when we played our last, or what we thought was our last, song, the crowd begged us to play “One More Song.” So, of course, we did. We ended our evening with Good Night Sweetheart, Good Night by the Overtones. And then it really was good night.
