Felix and Fingers want you to know there is a hidden gem in Lakeland, Florida. As we arrived at The Magnolia Building wedding, this 1920’s historical venue totally had us impressed. This facility is part of the City of Lakeland Parks and Recreation property. Furthermore, this building has a wrap around veranda overlooking Lake Mirror and is adjacent to Hollis Garden. Magnolia Building Wedding Lakeland Florida
Our performer for The Magnolia Building wedding was Brittany. Guests gathered on the veranda to watch the promenade enter the building. As the bride entered the building, Brittany played a classic wedding march. We thought it was very sweet the groom cried happy tears a few times during the ceremony. It was love at first sight! After the ceremony, Julie and John strolled over to Hollis Garden for pictures. In all honesty, we couldn’t think of a more beautiful tropical backdrop! Dinner, DJ’ing and Dancing
To begin with, guests enjoyed gourmet sandwiches and salads prepared by The Garden Bistro Restaurant. The Garden Bistro is located directly below The Magnolia Building. If you are interested in catering from The Garden Bistro Restaurant please click here. Brittany played a light instrumental during dinner. During this time a few couples enjoyed the dance floor. In lieu of a wedding cake the bride and groom had a fabulous sweet table. For example, cake pops were a favorite with the crowd.
Brittany started DJ’ing early (while some guests were still dining). There was a ton of guests requesting Latin house music. Brittany could not accomplish these requests on the piano even if she tried. This was indeed a call for super DJ’ing. Songs such as Merenguero Hasta la Tambora by Johnny Ventura were a hit. The dance floor was on fire. Actually, it was a Miami night club scene! Eventually Brittany switched over to our popular interactive dueling piano show. As this was a solo performance, Brittany had the unique opportunity to get the crowd involved with non-stop requests and dancing all night long.
