The Tuscan Hills Winery Wedding gave Felix a peek at some Irish wedding traditions that were a bit new to us. It was a super fun time at a delightful venue. Next time you’re near Effingham, Illinois, make sure to stop at the Tuscan Hills Winery.

Tuscan Hills Winery Wedding

Tuscan Hills Winery Wedding venueWe just loved this winery in south central Illinois. It is family owned and operated and we couldn’t have felt more welcome. And it is just divine for weddings. We drove through the vineyard and arrived at the secluded farmstead. It was quite charming but it just became better and better. They offer indoor seating for 110 people plus gorgeous covered patios that will seat up to 200. The lighting is romantic and adds to an atmosphere that is serene and surrounded by limitless outdoor beauty. We loved the wine tasting room adjacent to the reception area. You really need to see this venue as it is just the perfect spot with an old world feel that makes you never want to leave. Take a look at their pictures by clicking here.

Irish Fun and Laughter

We noticed some slight differences to wedding traditions at this Tuscan Hills Winery Wedding. Nothing too out of the ordinary but enough to keep us interested. Mainly, the order of speeches was switched up a bit. The couple’s ceremony was in the Tuscan Hills Winery Wedding guestsoutdoor gazebo and the speeches were made there before we went in to dinner. The best man had everyone practically rolling on the grass he was so hilarious. And then the night became really fun. Oh, and the Irish accents charmed us the entire evening as well.

We don’t know if the word “fun” is enough to describe this group. They were an absolute blast to play for, truly they were. Of course we played the traditional My Wild Irish Rose and also had to throw in Sinead O’Connor’s Nothing Compares 2 U. Come On Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners made an appearance on the request list and this group sang it the top of their lungs. Yes this group loved to sing. You should have heard them sing to the Irish favorite Molly Malone. The “Alive, alive, oh; Alive, alive, oh; Crying “cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh” practically shook the rafters.
