On a sweltering day in July, Felix and Fingers headed out to Wisconsin Dells ready to perform for a WILD Wilderness Resort wedding. Did we mention it was HOT? It’s a good thing our performers have portable tents because we’d melt before our piano on such a hot day! Congratulations Maddie and Kyle!

Felix and Fingers are not new to the fact an outdoor ceremony in July will require a tent for us to perform under. Instead of the groom passing out, it would be our performer from the relentless heat. We need to give a shout out to the Wilderness Resort staff, what an amazing group of individuals. Not only did they help us unload our gear, but helped us set up our tent for the ceremony. The Wilderness Resort is located in Wisconsin Dells, WI and has been a popular tourist destination for many years. Visitors of all ages flock to this year round, indoor/outdoor water-park to have fun with their family and friends. Maddie and Kyle exchanged vows under a gorgeous pergola accented with magnolias from the brides bouquet. The ceremony was short and sweet due to a few guests not handling the heat very well. Our performer for this event was Mike Potts. It’s a good thing he’s not made of sugar, he would have melted without his tent. It was only a few steps from the patio to Glacier Canyon Lodge but when everyone stepped inside, it was instant ice castle relief. The bride and groom chose to hold their reception in the Sandstone Ballroom. In all honesty, it was the perfect size for the Wilderness Resort wedding. Cocktails and appetizers commenced with Mike starting the hour playing a fabulous rendition of Georgia on My Mind by Ray Charles.
Chocolate Coffee Bean Bliss
To begin with, Felix and Fingers kept the Wilderness Resort wedding event FUN playing a variety of interactive games during dinner. We used an extra wireless mic (left on of course) as a Hot Potato. Between the corny music and LOUD laughter, Mike had the entire audience having a great time. Furthermore, Maddie and Kyle began their new life together cutting into one of the most gorgeous wedding cakes we’ve ever seen. They also cut into one of the most delicious medium rare filet’s we’ve ever tasted. Felix and Fingers played a great mix of love songs, jazz and a few instrumentals while guests dines and mingled. It was the perfect setting.
Now that the cake was cut and all the traditional wedding to-do’s were completed, it was time to party until the very end! Felix and Fingers had the dance floor packed with songs such as Lean On by Major Lazer & DJ Snake. It wasn’t long before a Conga line formed. Mike made sure to get everyone out on the floor. Youngsters in the front, grandparents in the back. It was a SUCCESS! Did we mention the Wilderness Resort has a built in sound system? Hence, the PERFECT dance party! Above all, we were excited to see the favors were chocolate covered espresso beans, they kept us up for the long drive home!
