Felix had a wonderful time performing at the Vennebu Hill Wedding Barn & Event Venue Celebration. This completely renovated Gothic barn is located in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Very secluded, yet close to everything! Our performers for this high-energy, fun show were T. Duncan Parker and Robert Deason. Everyone had a blast. Vennebu..the Norwegian term meaning “a gathering place for friends and family.” How appropriate for such a lavish wedding event. With it’s beautiful views of the Baraboo bluffs and a unique gothic style barn, it’s a sure spot to party. To begin with, the bride and groom were simply awesome people. Emily and Ben were so in love, and sharing their day with their family was such a treat. Cocktail hour was so much fun with a ton of great song requests and a few couples dancing. Champagne was flowing and hors d’oeuvres were circling. Everyone was content and happy. The perfect cocktail hour indeed.
Big Surprises and Huge Priorities
From cocktail hour, guests were directed to their tables to enjoy an amazing dinner of delicious steak and chicken options for everyone. We had the steak; it was out of this world! Felix loves to play live dinner music. Emily and Ben are fans of the oldies. We took advantage of this and played one of our favorites, Walkin’ back to Georgia by Jim Croce. An awesome choice indeed; everyone loved it. The bride and groom are from Pennsylvania, so they had a cookie table, which is a Pennsylvania tradition. There were over 800 cookies alongside boxes for guests to take them home with! They were so yummy.
The bride’s mother surprised everyone by playing You Are the Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder. Duncan sang with her. A memorable moment indeed! Furthermore, the bride’s father used to play in a wedding band. Having live music at the wedding was a huge priority.
Duncan and Robert had everyone form a circle around the bride and groom for their signature grand finale. We played Piano Man by Billy Joel and it was a beautiful way to end the evening. We are proud to place another successful show in our books. Everyone went home happy!
