We were off to Kissimmee, Florida to ring in a private family New Year party. This was one of the most special, intimate engagements we’ve had here at Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos. People don’t always think of us for family only events but read on. You’ll see why you should!
A Beautiful Private Family New Year
This family is actually from Indiana but they own a large vacation home in Kissimmee, Florida. Close to Disney World and other local attractions, it’s the perfect location for fun family getaways. They also rent this home out and we don’t know what the cost is, but whatever they charge it is worth it! There are multiple themed bedrooms and game rooms–The Lion King, Star Wars, Willy Wonka, and more. What a fun place to stay.
For this New Years, the entire extended family converged on their vacation home for a fun night of singing and dancing with yours truly, Felix and Fingers. This was a large family group with ages ranging from infant to great grandparents in their 70’s. We loved this family so much, we wished we were a part of it. And for one night, we were! They made us feel so at home and we felt as if we were playing for our own family.
All Kinds of Music
Our family was of all ages which lent itself to all kinds of music requests. Our first song of the night was Bad Guy by Bille Eilish. The girls hollered out “duh!” in the funniest ways! One must play song of the night was Stand Tall from Burton Cummings. The men in the family sang this song so loudly that the windows rattled. Basically, for this group, we played everything from John Mellencamp’s Jack and Diane to Roses from Outkast. Just before New Years, everyone locked arms, sang and swayed to Piano Man from Billy Joel. They remained arm in arm throughout the ball drop and we had tears in our eyes it was so touching.
