Barn weddings are one of our all time favorite wedding themes, and the Byron Colby Barn wedding event was no exception. To begin with, rustic elegance was the overarching theme of the day at the Byron Colby Barn wedding event. This event was a solo wedding performed by Jim Gritschke who was accompanied by a drummer. Felix and Fingers recommend this great option if you’re looking to save some cash, but still receive an awesome full sound experience.
Jim thought the weather was not going to hold out for this outdoor ceremony, it was looking rather bleak. Much to Jim’s surprise, during set up the sun came out and graced the courtyard with beautiful light! The bride looked gorgeous in her wedding gown embossed with lace and beaded details. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful plum colored chiffon gowns, while the groomsmen looked dashing in their grey suits. Jim played a variety of light instrumental music as the couple exchanged vows under a beautifully decorated pergola. For the recessional song, the bride requested You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall & Oates. We thought it was a GREAT choice!
Delicious Burnt Ends and High School Friends
After the formalities of an enchanted ceremony, guests had a chance to mix and mingle during a 60 minute cocktail hour. During this time, everyone enjoyed dancing to songs such as Soul Man by Sam & Dave and the ever popular Mack the Knife by Bobby Darin. Did someone mention dinner? What’s a barn wedding without BBQ? Jim had a chance to try some of BBQ’d Productions double smoked, double rubbed burnt ends. To be honest, it was THE BEST he’s EVER tasted! During dinner, Jim played a variety of country love songs such as Through the Years by Kenny Rogers and Making Memories of Us by Keith Urban. In fact, Jim continued this romantic theme throughout speeches and the couples first dance of Could I Have this Dance by Amy Grant. A beautiful moment indeed!
When it came down to it, the Byron Colby Barn wedding event reception party was one of the biggest highlights of the night. While guests were mingling with each other and hitting the dance floor, Jennifer of JHyde Photography made sure to capture every special moment. Playing a wedding close to home, there is always the chance of running into someone you know. At this event, one of the bridesmaids went to high school with Jim. It was wonderful for Jim to catch up with someone he played music with in school!

In conclusion, Felix and Fingers were the heart and soul of the Byron Colby Barn wedding event sending guests home with happy feet. Not only did Jim keep a PACKED dance floor all night long, but he catered to ALL AGES with a great variety of music. Old Town Road by Lil’ Nas X has been the latest in hot music trends and ended up on Jim’s piano as a first time hot request. Our performer dug in his heels and for the first time pumped out THE BEST version of this popular song. Sure enough, every single young person went WILD singing every word and LOVING every second!
