Cedar Ridge Winery Wedding Event Swisher Iowa
At a vineyard venue, you won’t need much decor since the scenery will do most of the work for you. Joyce and Mike chose a simple yet elegant outdoor ceremony overlooking rolling hills and sparkling ponds. Our performers for this event were Greg Percifield and Robert Deason. We played background Hornpipe by G.F. Handle as Joyce made her entrance strolling down the aisle. During exchange of vows, the bride and groom included a wine ceremony. As a matter of fact, they’ll open this blessed bottle of wine on their 10 year anniversary. Furthermore, Joyce chose an upbeat All You Need is Love by The Beatles for their recessional song. What a GREAT way to make an exit!
Greg and Robert were taken aside and warned this actually may not be a dancing party. Guess what? Everyone danced, and danced…….and danced. Joyce and Mike are both PhD recipients from the University of Iowa. Their love for their Alma Mater showed throughout the night. Hence the black and yellow decor. Cedar Ridge Winery staff outdid themselves, covering every detail and moreover, making sure everyone was happy. Everyone enjoyed buffet style hors d’oeuvres and champagne flowed during cocktail hour. Felix and Fingers kept guests on the floor with songs such as Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars. The spinach was DELICIOUS!
Custom Wedding Favors
Joyce is from China. Both of her parents flew to America for their first time so they could attend the Cedar Ridge Winery wedding event. During dinner, Joyce’s mom gave an incredibly touching speech which she learned in English for her daughter’s BIG DAY! This winery is well known for their award winning wines and internationally recognized spirits. Pair that up with a fresh, chef inspired dinner and it’s a WIN. Who doesn’t enjoy a nice Cabernet paired with a flank steak? Additionally, a Mochi table took the place of a traditional wedding cake. If you’re not familiar with Mochi, it’s a miraculous match of marvelously mouthwatering ice cream wrapped in magnificent Mochi dough (a short-grain Japonica glutinous rice). So uniquely delicious! Above all, Felix and Fingers kept a great social vibe during dinner while playing light background music allowing guests to mingle.
After dinner, speeches and Mochi cutting it was clear everyone was ready to party. We played a TON of 60’s and 80’s music. It seemed to be the zone! Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys and Take On Me by A-ha had the dance floor packed. We were happy to see everyone having such a great time. We then decided to kick it up a notch and play Shout by The Isley Brothers. In all honesty, we’ve never seen such a packed dance floor! The bride and groom sent everyone home with handmade chocolate truffles and custom made chopsticks. Felix and Fingers wondered how many guests tried to eat the truffles with the chopsticks? Did we mention the wine was provided by Cedar Ridge Winery? It was divine. So much that we brought a few bottles home with us!
