Planning a wedding is hard. From finding the perfect venue all the way to your entertainment, there are a TON of things to think about. The Schuster Center wedding event was a memorable evening held in the Kettering Wintergarden located in Dayton, Ohio. This venue was indeed chosen for it’s high glass walls and natural light setting. This amazing winter-garden will also inspire you with ideas ranging from casual to high class elegance. Felix and Fingers would like to wish Amanda and Matt CONGRATS on their special day!
Schuster Center Wedding Event Dayton Ohio
Amanda and Matt were married on a beautiful May day in Dayton, Ohio. We knew before even starting this was going to be a GREAT SHOW as the bride and groom were SO EXCITED! Our performers for the Schuster Center wedding event were Ben Avci and Mike Sherman. With the help of friendly staff, Ben and Mike set up their show inside the Kettering Wintergarden, a six-story glass atrium. This venue is actually the lobby of a big theater in Dayton, OH and a popular location for special events. Laughter, Love, Family and Friends
Have you ever witnessed the perfect cocktail party? These shindigs are Felix and Fingers favorite types of gatherings. Like all great wedding events it really comes down to who is directing the drama. In this case, The Schuster Center’s diligent staff made sure champagne flowed while stations of canapes and nibbles were placed throughout having everyone mingle in the atrium. Guests also had fun dancing as we played song requests such as Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin and Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland. In all honesty, it was the perfect balance of spirits and food.
To start with, as guests arrived at their beautifully-appointed tables they were delighted to see the gorgeous centerpieces and place settings. Wedding menu cards revealed the meal they were about to enjoy. As a matter of fact, Amanda and Matt chose to go big trend in current wedding menus with a blend of elevated cuisine. In addition to a perfectly-cooked Chateaubriand, chef-elevated comfort foods like mac n cheese (with lobster and the finest truffle oil) made a lasting impression with everyone in attendance. Secondly, Amanda and Matt decided to have Ben and Jerry’s ice cream instead of traditional cake (a decision that has our full support). Mike was the first in line after the newlywed’s “ice cream scooping” and grabbed a cone loaded with chocolate brownie fudge. YUM!!
Dancing the Night Away
We had the wonderful opportunity to sing Amanda and Matt’s first dance live. Their song of choice was Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran, which is one of our favorites. We also had a guest singer by the name of Bradley for the night. Our performers do not recall his relationship to the bride and groom though we are pretty sure he was a relative of Matt’s. The man has pipes. Bradley was belting out Journey tunes..in ORIGINAL KEY! The Schuster Center wedding event dance floor was never empty. In other words, Matt and Amanda have some awesome friends and family members. They’ve got moves too!
To summarize our dueling piano show, we had everyone circle around Matt and Amanda as we performed Piano Man by Billy Joel. In fact, everyone began tapping in and dancing with the happy couple one at a time. Therefore, it was a lovely end to a beautiful and fun wedding.
