The Saint Bruno Catholic School fundraiser placed Pickneyville, Illinois on the map for the most FUN fundraiser in town! Our amazing performers for this awesome event were Jennifer Lee Knuth and Will O’Keefe. As a matter of fact, they are a power team specializing in working a large crowd while raising money!
Saint Bruno Catholic School Fundraiser Pickneyville
Small rural towns have large farming families that love when an interactive show rolls through their community bringing tons of fun for all ages. Our show was at the Columbian Club of Pickneyville. The event manager (Becky) was such a pleasure to work with. This fundraiser had a Mardi Gras theme complete with masks and centerpieces with traditional purple, green and gold decor. Most of the night, we joked about how this whole event was based entirely around booze. To start with, they had a cash bar and an option to purchase a $20 all-you-can-drink-cup with a number written on the bottom. If you purchased the cup, you were immediately in a drawing to win a fifth of booze of some sort. In addition to the bottomless booze cup purchases, a YETI cooler filled entirely with – you guessed it – booze! Cocktail hour and finger food went hand in hand while knocked off a few song requests such as You Make My Dreams by Darryl Hall and John Oates. Additionally, St. Bruno’s offered liquor infused cupcakes as a dessert option. The strawberry daiquiri was DIVINE!
Special Requests and Senior Dance Off
About 3 songs in Jennifer noticed those cute Mardi Gras masks provided had her sweating under the stage lights. Hence, the mask was quickly replaced with extra beads! In all honesty, we have no clue how Marshmellow does it. What is more, at one point of the evening we received a request with a note on the back. This request mentioned there was a couple in the audience that were married in July of 2017 and they never had their first dance. Hence, our performers quickly decided we absolutely had to make this happen. Jennifer and Will played an awesome rendition of Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis, calling the couple out on the dance floor. We made sure everyone knew it was their first dance. After a few moments, the floor was PACKED with couples!! Such a sweet moment to be a part of.
The Saint Bruno Catholic School fundraiser knew how to have a good time. Such a fun night with so many door prizes and raffles! One of the ways our performers raised money at this event was eventually holding a dance-off with two senior male guests. We teased them that the winner would be whoever collected the most dollar bills. Before we had a chance to get to the second verse of Baby Got Back by Sir Mix A Lot, guests were sprinting to the floor throwing money around like wild. The entire crowd was laughing and having a super fun time!

In conclusion, Felix and Fingers had a great time performing and raising money at the Saint Bruno Catholic School fundraiser. We are PROUD to say we made just over $500 in tips and LOVED putting that money into Saint Bruno’s fundraising account. It was awesome to see everyone enjoying themselves during our show. By the end of the night, and likely after several drinks, most of the guests were walking around wearing the masks having a blast. Above all, the staff was such a pleasure to work with leading to a smooth night of fun leaving the crowd chanting “One More Song”!
