You might be wondering, what is a lemonade brigade masquerade? Well, this is a grass roots organization where kids between the ages of 6-16 raise money. They do this by selling lemonade! Don’t you remember those fun lemonade stands from your younger days? You might have kept that money but these kids have raised over $170,000! This money is to help children who are sick, have special needs, are fighting cancer, or who have experienced a traumatic event.

We were close to home at Smith’s Central Garage in McHenry, Illinois for this event. In our opinion, this space has a perfect layout with a dining and dancing area in the front and a bar towards the back. We must say, we were highly impressed with the staff. Nobody ever had an empty glass with these professionals taking care of us. We would definitely recommend this venue for any of your upcoming events. Fundraising Fun with Teenage Girls
Certainly, teenage girls have their own special style when requesting their dance music. For sure, their tastes usually come from much more recent sources than those of their parents. So we played a lot of stuff like Panic!, 5 Seconds of Summer, and Shawn Mendes. And these girls sang their lungs out! Wow! What a ton of great energy.
When it comes to fundraising, we have lots of ideas. One of them that we used here was to do a rapid fundraiser. We knew one of the volunteers would come up and sing to a Janis Joplin song. So, we got the crowd to raise some money to encourage her to do so. We raised over $250 in about 2 minutes to get this super talented lady to sing. And she was awesome!

One of our performers even had a special connection to this group as a school friend has a child with cerebral palsy. That made it even more special for him to put it all out there to get every possible dollar out of these attendees. This Lemonade Brigade Masquerade was a total success.
