Felix and Fingers could not think of a better time to ring in the New Year but with a wedding! The Peoria Civic Center Wedding was quite a double event. The Peoria Civic Center is located in the small, Midwestern town of Peoria, Illinois. Ringing in the New Year has never been more fun!

Felix and Fingers were thrilled to be playing the Peoria Civic Center wedding for Brandy and Chad on New Year’s Eve. Brandy and Chad were so excited to have 240 of their friends and family bring in the New Year with them. Tonight’s performers for the Peoria Civic Center Wedding were Jim Gritschke and Greg Percifield. Greg was surprised the groom was from the same small town (Galva, IL) that he’s from. Because of this, Greg saw many familiar faces. In addition to familiar faces, the hired guitar players were friends with Greg. Greg performed with them at previous events. The guitarists played during cocktails and the wedding couple’s first dance.

What perhaps made this wedding even more special was the non-traditional wedding fare on New Year’s Eve. Even more surprising was instead of the usual chicken or steak options, the newlyweds opted for pizza delivery. There was also a large salad bar and breakfast burritos for guests to enjoy later in the evening. Hence we witnessed a laid back, yet ready to party crowd when it came time for us to perform.

Besides Felix and Fingers playing George Strait for ceremony seating music. Greg and Jim continued to play country music through dinner and into the night. Once song requests started, we had a blast playing Copperhead Road, Fast Car, songs by Elvis and more. Since Felix and Fingers purchased a new, powerful wireless light system, we have enjoyed experiments with new variations and setups. Additionally, the neon inside of the Peoria Civic Center’s giant event room allowed us to point lights at the dance floor. We had a great time extending our light show onto the giant ceiling, covering all four corners to the guests delight. Therefore, this light show made for a really cool sensory experience flooded with tons of color.
