Mackay Gardens Wedding
What a special time it was playing for Mary Jo and Scott’s Mackay Gardens wedding. So many special moments. To begin, we loved the Art Deco era theme. While some guests dressed the part, the wedding party, including the bride and groom, really got into it with some fantistic suits and dresses. In addition, it was super special that the groom and his guests made it into a double celebration. They all celebrated their 30th high school reunion. What fun! One unique fixture of this wedding was the paper airplane making station. Instead of throwing rice, Mary Jo and Scott were sent off with a launch of paper airplanes!
The bride and groom’s families had only recently met at an Eagle’s concert in April. They came from all over, from Kansas to Conneticut, to connect and begin their journey as new family members. Felix and Fingers commemorated this by playing a medley of five Eagle’s songs. And this group really did Take it to the Limit to celebrate The Best of My Love.
Great Venue & Great Food
The Mackay Gardens and Lakeside Preserve is a beautiful place to host a wedding. The indoor/outdoor options make this the perfect place for any type of weather. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. The view was perfect because of the natural setting and the water in the background. The BBQ dinner catered by 4 Rivers Smokehouse was another excellent aspect of this wedding. This just happened to be one of our performer’s favorite restaurants. The food was outstanding. BBQ dinner weddings have become quite popular lately. In fact, this was the third such one attended by our performer this year.
