Felix and Fingers recently dueled at a GA State Railroad Museum wedding in Savannah, GA. As a National Historic Landmark, the museum spans an entire block and is comprised of old trains and historic buildings, including a functioning blacksmith shop. A fully operational turntable is there as well! Located just outside of downtown Savannah, this is the ideal spot for a great vacation memory. GA State Railroad Museum Wedding
Our day began with a beautiful ceremony set up outside the reception space in one of the courtyards. Faerie lights hung above the guests, and a large brick archway played backdrop to this couple’s “I do”‘s,giving off a romantic and rustic feel.
After the ceremony, guests milled about the courtyard while the couple took pictures. After about 45 minutes, waitstaff invited the guests into the hall. More faerie lights crisscrossed on the ceiling in the reception space. As a long brick building, the venue had enough room for a medium-sized group and two of our pianos. Wooden tables with benches lined the hall, and places were set with antique dishes and silverware. The kind and attentive waitstaff kept the aged water goblets filled throughout the night, even as they served a delicious dinner.
Rock You Like a Hurricane
These energetic guests were excited to celebrate the nuptials, and they proved just how much on the dance floor. Because of Hurricane Irma, the couple was forced to reschedule from their first wedding date. However, many of the original guests made it, and the vendors were all able to reschedule for this date as well. Once the reception was up and running, the couple entered to Rock You Like a Hurricane by Scorpions, just to be cheeky. Guests loved it, and the couple invited everyone to dance with them during their first dance.
Throughout the night, guests requested all sorts of songs. To our surprise, Jimmy Buffet was the most requested artist. After finishing our set, we switched over to DJing, like we usually do. However, the couple and a group of their friends wanted us to keep playing, so we did an encore set to finish out the night. We are thankful to have been a part of this special event for the couple and wish them the best.
