Felix and Fingers had the opportunity to travel down to Texas to perform for a private holiday party just outside of Houston. I traveled to the client’s home. This holiday party was full of cheer and I was happy to be able to provide the music and entertainment for this great group of folks. Private Holiday Party – Houston, Texas
The hosts graciously invited many of their friends into their home full of holiday decorations. Guests mingled and enjoyed each other’s company. As well, they had a full catering staff, appetizers, desserts and a champagne room. While guests munched on the delicious food and enjoyed some nice beverages, I transitioned from playing background music to holiday sing-a-longs. I began with a Christmas Carol sing-a-long where about half the group gathered around the Christmas tree in the living room and participated. It created a very special holiday moment and, I think, held a lot of importance to the hosts, who wanted to bring back a tradition of caroling that had stopped eight to ten years ago.
This crowd requested song after song after song. They had a few group sing-a-longs and most of the requests came verbally because they had such an intimate crowd. Felix and Fingers loves taking a variety of requests from guests and we always try our best to cater to the needs of the group and function. I loved the energy of the crowd even though it was only a small, private holiday party. Later, they had a guest come up to sing Semi-Charmed Life and Lose Yourself at two different points of the party which brought about a huge positive response from the crowd. Overall, it seemed that the party was a success and everyone enjoyed their time there!
