Felix and Fingers recently delighted in a night of dueling for a Lutheran church stewardship dinner. It was held at Evangelical Lutheran Church of All Saints in Fox Lake, IL (for more information about the church, click here). This fundraising event included a silent auction as well as a 50/50. The theme for this year’s stewardship dinner was “caring.” We felt the love our guests have for helping others throughout the night.

Lutheran Church Stewardship Dinner

Stewardship dinner-MaravelasNestled on a strip of land teaming with rivers, Evangelical Lutheran Church of All Saints host their annual stewardship campaign each November. They aim to raise money for the church and celebrate the gifts, talents and volunteer efforts of the congregation. This dinner was catered by Maravela’s, a family-owned catering service and banquet hall adored by members of this church (if you’d like to find out more about Maravela’s, please click here).

Dinner, Drinks and Dancing

Stewardship dinner-basketsOur dueling pianos were a hit with this fun and energetic congregation. As they bid on the 15 baskets and 15 gifts given by local businesses for the silent auction, guests drank and danced to the music. One man danced so much that he started jumping on and off the stage! His energy amazed us, but we also worried he would hurt himself. Thankfully he didn’t, and he even decided to karaoke to Old Time Rock and Roll as we played it.

After we played some fast songs, we slowed it down so the congregation could continue to bid on the baskets and gifts and catch their breath. We saw some sweet couples dancing together before we sped things up again. When we took requests, we were asked to play Wipeout. Chris, one of our pianists, suddenly found this to be his new favorite song!  Between some great requests and the energy of the crowd, it’s safe to say this night was a success.
