Trailside Event Center is a new and fresh event venue in the charming village of Peoria Heights, IL. Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos performed a Trailside Event Center wedding reception for Kelsey and Anthony on a chilly October day.
The Venue
This venue was great for a wedding reception. When we walked in, we saw wonderfully decorated tables, lights that danced across the ceiling, and a wide-open dance floor – perfect for breaking out the best dance moves. From Trailside Event Center’s website, they say that “the second-story event venue offers lovely panoramic views of Peoria Heights in a setting of exposed bricks and wooden beams” which gives the place a homey and rustic feel. Excitement and happiness filled the air as guests came into the hall. They took their seats and shortly thereafter the lovely wait staff helped with dinner. Guests had a variety to choose from, including lasagna, pulled pork, and chicken. They had something for everyone! They even had custom made St. Louis Cardinals cookies! After everyone finished dinner and the wedding party gave their toasts, we moved to the dance floor.
Trailside Event Center Wedding
Celebrating the marriage between two people is such a joyous occasion that many of us can’t help but dance. For starters, the bride and groom took choreographed dance lessons for their first dance. All of the players at Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos love to be a part of special moments like this. The big dance floor allowed for lots of guests to bust their moves all at the same time. We played some classic wedding hits like “Shout” by the Isley Brothers, “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, and slowed it down with songs like “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley. One of our favorites we played that evening was “Sweet Caroline” because nearly every guest was out on the floor and we would cut out and the entire crowd would sing “ba ba ba” back to us.
It seemed like everyone had a great time celebrating the new bride and groom. The mother of the bride stated that you got my husband on the dance floor, so I know you did something right!” Moreover, the groom’s grandparents celebrated 68 years of marriage, so we had even more to celebrate that evening. Overall, this Trailside Event Center wedding was fabulous and gave us all some great memories.
