Rockford Il is a great place to have a wedding reception.  You get a city feel with the hassle of Chicago, you have scenery like that provided by the Rock River, and for me atleast, it’s close to my home in Crystal Lake!  We’ve played many weddings in Rockford and are proud to add the Lombardi Club to that list!

Lombardi Club, Rockford IL

Lombardi Club Rockford Wedding

Mike’s inner child was thrilled

The Lombardi Club is a private club right on the rock river.  The patios surrounding the club give wonderful views of the river and almost make you forget that you’re actually in Rockford!

Being a private club, we arrived and were immediately locked out.  We were able to find a member to let us in, but if you’re having a wedding and don’t want it crashed, the Lombardi club might be the way to go!

The venue lended itself well to hosting a wedding, and though the decor might not be as opulent as a Chicago venue, that’s kind of the point when getting married outside of the city.  The focus instead was the prime river location, and add onto that a perfect summer evening and you have yourself a great wedding!

It was sunny…

Wedding Catering was done by Abreo in Rockford, which is probably the hottest culinary experience in town!  The groom was beyond excited about Abreo being there, and though we didn’t get to eat nearly as much as we’d have liked, the selection looked absolutely amazing.

Wedding Bagpiper

Our groom was Irish and had hired a bagpiper to perform at the wedding ceremony.  We later brought him to the Lombardi Club to also play for wedding parry introductions.  It was honestly pretty cool to watch everyone walk in with the epic sound of bagpipes accompanying them.

If you’re looking for unique wedding ideas, think about unique instruments like this bride and groom.  Bagpipes, steel drums, didgeridoo, and Alp Horns have all found their way into F&F events, and we’re always happy to work with these special guests!

Can My Guests Sing?

Lombardi Club Rockford Weddings

End of the night pic!

One of my favorite part about dueling pianos weddings is that we allow people to actually perform with us.  One of the extended family members at this wedding had brought a ukelele and sang/played a couple tunes for the bride and groom.  After helping her set up some microphones and pumping her through our system, it was great to watch the party stop and appreciate the gift that was being given.  The young lady then continued to sing a few more songs with us throughout the course of the night, opening up the floor to some additional guest vocalists.

Felix and Fingers are all about going with the flow.  Where as most bands shy away from special guests, we embrace the opportunity.  People pay attention when family members sing, it’s actually great for the show itself.

If you are musical, or have family/friends who sing, let us know and we’ll present an opportunity to perform with us at your next event.  With dueling pianos, it’s all about the moment, and who knows, maybe you’ll even find yourself playing other shows with us!

For booking info, be sure to check out our contact page.  And did you know Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos actually lets you pick your performers?  If you haven’t seen our exclusive team of entertainers, check them out now!

Thanks for having us Lombardi Club, we look forward to returning!
