front of bloomington center of performing arts This was a show that introduced me to some new and familiar faces. While one of our pianists was on a hiatus due to a leg injury, I performed at the wedding with Robert, who had ‘stepped’ in for Michael. Although it wasn’t the original plan, we have a very tight group of players, and we are always ready to put on a show with anyone in our group with just a moment’s notice.

Hold on… If you came here to read about the Bloomington Center Of Performing Arts, or how well the venue is suited for weddings, you are in the right place.  Just bear with me for a moment while I introduce ourselves.

We (Felix and Fingers) were the entertainment for the wedding.  In fact, Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos is probably the greatest wedding entertainment you might find.  But don’t just take my word for it.  Check out review at any of the most popular wedding planning websites, such as theknot.com or weddingwire.com.  You’ll be sure to find us there, as we have consecutively won the best wedding entertainers of the year awards.

As a dueling pianist, we provide an all-request show, no matter how obscure the requests may be.  We are somewhat of encyclopedias of music. Not one song slipped past us that night, as they rarely do.

One of the highlights that night was a great rendition of “Shoop.” You know… that early 90’s hit by Salt ‘n’ Pepa?  The girl who requested it was going absolutely crazy on the dance floor.  She knew every word and sang along like it was the happiest moment of her life.  Of course the “happiest moment” is supposed to be reserved for the bride and groom.  But what can I say?  A Felix and Fingers wedding makes many people happy.

Now for the familiar faces.  The wedding coordinator approached me, and said hello.  “Hi!  How are you?” I replied.  “Do you remember me?”  Oh boy, I hate that question.  I am really not good with faces and names.  I am good with chords and scales, however.  In any event, it turned out I had played at a venue months ago that he also coordinated.  It is actually no surprise that I didn’t remember him, as I had spoken to him only briefly those many months ago.  But he certainly hadn’t forgotten us.  As it turned out, he had been the wedding coordinator for at least 5 other Felix and Fingers events that I was not in on.  It was good to know that we made a strong and positive impression on him.  He told me that he often recommends us.  I was sure to tell the original “Fingers” about this, who reached out to him to say thanks.

But What About The Venue?bloomington center of performing arts without uplights

I didn’t forget.  I’ll tell you all about it.  As you can see from the front entrance (the picture way up above,) it is hard to miss.  But I managed to miss it, as the address I had took me to a back street entrance that Google Maps didn’t seem to keen on helping me find.  No matter, we always arrive very early, to accommodate for traffic, directions, gas, or duck crossings.

This place can accommodate a very large wedding if needed.  On the night we played, it was packed with guests.  It looked spectacular, as well.  Mind you, I only said “spectacular”.  Here is a spectacular picture from a wedding at the Center of Performing Arts that we DIDN’T play at.

Not too shabby, right? 😉

Well, let’s turn on some up-lights!

bloomington center of performing arts with uplightsHere is a picture of the Center of Performing Arts on the wedding night that we DID play. Yes, this is the same room , believe it or not.  Can you believe what a difference that makes?  It has just elevated from “spectacular” to “extraordinarily spectacular!”

What you can’t see, from these pictures is that there was plenty of room for dancing.  I know our pianos look cramped in with the tables in the far-right corner.  But there was actually a large space where people danced all night.

But back to the up-lights… You may be wondering how to get some for your own wedding.  Well in addition to simply providing dueling piano entertainment, we offer several upgrades that include things such as real baby grand piano shells, GoPro video (we have an extra camera that is nearly indestructible that is passed around by guests and the wedding party the whole night,) and did I mention up-lights? Yes we even take care of up-lights if that is something you’d like.  Read about our uplights, cameras & shells here.

With Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos, you don’t just get two guys playing all requests and entertaining your guests like they’ve never been entertained.  We also provide great jazz music for cocktails or dinner.  We play the music for the first dances.  We emcee.  And at the very end of the night, we even DJ.  But it’s all up to you.  Every event is unique and tailored to exactly what you want.  Whether it’s live or recorded, we provide professional sound systems, as well as wireless mics and lapel microphones for speeches.  We can even play music for the ceremony.  We do it all!

So if you are checking out the Bloomington Center of Performing Arts for your wedding, let me tell you it is a sensational venue.  But keep us in mind to, because no matter how great the venue may be, you’ll need a team that entertains beyond expectations
