The New Year started off with a huge bang of the wedding bells this 2015 as Felix and Fingers performed the first events of 2015, the first of which was a wedding at The Vista Grande in Clinton, Iowa. This was a special day not only for our newlyweds, but also marked the first anniversary of the newly renovated venue run by Celeste Cruse. Let me just say, Celeste is one heck of a venue manager and has every detail worked out with precision and style. It was a pleasure to work along side her for this joyous occasion. Though the ceremony was held at a church just across the border, The Vista Grande boasts intimate indoor and outdoor ceremony sites for their guests to enjoy the full experience. On top of having a fully stocked premium bar, they also offer a spacious decorated buffet dining area and hardwood dance floor so guests can really get their party on!

..And party they did! After Greg had beautifully accompanied each important movement of the Ceremony, guests headed over and began to file in to The Vista Grande for the cocktail hour. Felix and Fingers really enjoy this relaxing time as it sets the mood for the evening and gives us a chance to play some slower melodic tunes that don’t necessarily blend with the Dueling portion of our show. This gives the attendees full range of song choice and ultimately a pleasant dining experience.

We always have a “Vista Grande” Ol’ Time
As with the majority of Felix and Fingers Weddings, the excitement begins with the first dances followed by thunderous applause of approval and awe. Greg and I had requests coming in from all over the spectrum, be it Elton John and Rush or even Taylor Swift and the Classic, Frozen. (Can we call Frozen a classic yet?) One big request that brought everybody to the floor was O.A.R.’s Crazy Game of Poker. I said “hey” and they all said “ha!” It really was a crazy experience. Nearing the end of the night, came the countdown to bring in the New Year! As the dueling pianos portion of the show faded into 2014, we kicked off our DJ section to give 2015 a great and new beginning.
Felix and Fingers is ready for anything this year has to throw at us, and don’t plan on Dueling Pianos to become “so last year.” The beauty of dueling pianos is that it is constantly evolving to meet new needs and create new experiences for all involved.
